Helicopter tours are very much part of the Las Vegas experience, and can be a great way to see the city from atop the action. With Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam close by, viewing the cityscape and mountainous views from the vantage point of a helicopter is inexplicably entertaining. Just as vehicles on the road succumb to maintenance issues, and negligent operation, helicopter tours see their share of accidents that surface for various reasons.
No matter the cause of a helicopter accident, the injuries are often severe simply because of the altitude and the construction of the compartment that passengers are carried in. Burns, broken or detached limbs, brain, neck and spinal cord injuries have all been reported as a result of helicopter accidents in the Las Vegas area. Unfortunately, death is also a frequent result of these devastating crashes, and if you are injured — or have lost a loved one — as a result of a helicopter accident, you deserve answers and retribution.
At Bertoldo, Baker, Carter & Smith, we work tirelessly to discover the cause of helicopter accidents, including employing a crash reconstruction expert that will deliver evidence and testimonial corroboration to support their findings. Our Las Vegas helicopter accidents attorneys will interview witnesses, inspect the crash site and apply our legal knowledge to your specific situation to uncover the cause of the accident, and determine who is ultimately responsible for making you whole again — physically, emotionally and financially.
Determining Helicopter Accident Liability
Helicopter operation in Las Vegas requires many levels of operation, including a pilot, aircraft owner, maintenance and repair solutions and the manufacturer of each piece associated with the helicopter. Recent Las Vegas Helicopter Crashes
Unfortunately, due to the high volume of helicopter tours that take place in Las Vegas, accidents have occurred and are public knowledge, including the most recent on record.
Four passengers and the pilot were killed in a Las Vegas helicopter crash on Dec. 7, 2011. The helicopter, operated by Sundance Helicopters, was taking the passengers on a luxury tour that was scheduled to fly over downtown Las Vegas, the Las Vegas strip and the Hoover Dam. The helicopter reportedly crashed into the River Mountains surrounding Lake Mead at about 5 p.m. The cause of the accident is not known and the identities of the deceased have not been released.
